How to increase women's involvement in IT and programming in nepal?

Now is the time for information technology.  People have stopped imagining life without computer, internet, wifi wherever they are.  Now the Internet is needed for everything from small things to very important things.  People now have more knowledge of technology and computer than ever before.

There are many institutes for teaching computer science education in Nepal and many IT related companies are also coming.  Information technology has improved a lot, more girls are being attracted to this field.

Women who used to run away from computers are now looking for their special education and career.  Now women are also becoming smart and searching for the subject of their choice.  Earlier, they used to take more interest in nursing, medical and management, but now they are studying IT and engineering at the same level.

The number of young women earning a good income by making a career in programming is increasing.  Despite all this, men are three times more involved in computer science and information technology than women in Nepal.  It is also the responsibility of the society to encourage women to move forward in this field.  Women in this field still do not know where to start, how to start and with whom to seek help.  This article tries to answer these questions of women.

Many people think that computer programming is difficult and that you have to have a computer background to learn and do computer programming, but this is not the case.  Anyone can do computer programming.  Many people who have no computer background and previously did not know anything about computer programming are now working in many information technology companies.  If you look at these companies, the number of women is much less than men.

If you look at the history, the first person to write a computer program was a woman (Lady Augusta Ada Loveless. Programming has become much easier now than before. There used to be a low level programming language but now there are high level programming languages like Java, C ++,  PHP, MySQL, Python etc.

Some of the reasons why women fall behind

- Lack of information and awareness
- Conservative view that computer programming is not for girls
- Not wanting to know about new technology

Where to start and how to start?

The key to computer programming is learning from the Internet.  There are now many platforms that teach computer programming for free, such as www.tutorialspoint.com, www.udemy.com, www.codeacademy.com, www.youtube.com, www.w3schools.com and much more.  Another option is to go to a private institution that teaches programming language and take a course.  You can learn the programming language you like in a period of 2 to 4 months.

But the main thing depends on the person.  Learning a programming language is not difficult, but it requires patience and hard work.  The more you practice in a programming language, the better.  One of the organizations started by Rojina Bajracharya for the purpose of teaching programming to women is Nshchaki Shla Tbhajalayinath.  He has been conducting various programs encouraging women to come into the programming field.

Although women in urban areas are aware of information technology and computer programming, they are not aware of it in village homes and elsewhere.  In today's 21st century, computer programming and information technology are very important and influential.  So everyone should know about it.
